Train your own workforce with simulations. The programming team from CSE Software® developed Dozer simulator software that works in tandem with actual controls to teach highway construction applications for heavy equipment operators. The virtual environment is a much safer place to learn and make mistakes than the actual jobsite.

CSE Software® Inc. is pleased to announce its Serious Gaming and Simulation team has developed new simulation software to teach heavy equipment operators how to operate a Cat® Dozer in a road construction environment.

VR Edition is an optional accessory. Built with patented VR NOW™ technology, the user can experience greater depth perception and become fully immersed in the environment and techniques when the system is engaged. Hardware contains a unique three-monitor configuration in the front, along with a back monitor, for a robust view of the environment. The motion system creates a total training experience with vibration and movement as the simulated machine interacts with the terrain.

Vice President, Lara Aaron says, “Our customers need training to increase production, reduce costs, improve safety, and teach accurate and consistent techniques. Simulations can accomplish all of those goals. Our 3D team gets feedback from real-world users and OEM subject-matter experts during the development phase. They conduct R&D to find the best ways to simulate the tasks and techniques that customers need to train.”

The Advanced Dozer System includes simulations that teach Control Familiarization, how to perform a Walkaround inspection, Site Clearance with tree and boulder removal, Pad Building, Road Construction, Ditch Building and Slope/Ramp Building. Integrated Grade Control teaches the user to follow and match a design profile throughout the exercises. Plus, an Open Training mode in each exercise offers opportunities for additional practice and skill refinement.

The simulated machine is based on Caterpillar’s line of Dozers/Track Type Tractors. CSE’s 3D programmers and physics engineers work together to ensure that the simulated machine’s physics respond/react realistically to the environment and terrain interaction. Results of simulation sessions can be recorded and reported for user feedback. Actual OEM controls are utilized in tandem with the software and a motion system for a full training experience. The software is available in English, Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic and Chinese.

The Advanced Dozer simulation software is developed for Simformotion™ LLC, the licensee for Cat® Simulators for Caterpillar Inc. In addition to the Advanced Dozer, CSE has developed simulations for the agriculture, construction, forestry, mining, airport ground handling, pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
