Best of MACUL Presents CUE Rock Star Teacher Camp in Saugatuck, Michigan
Napa Valley, CA (PRWEB) February 15, 2014 -- Computer-Using Educators (CUE)’s Rock Star Teacher Camps are hitting the road. Building on the success of the CUE Rock Star Teacher Camps in California – the first of the 2014 camps debuts this weekend in Napa Valley – CUE will be launching camps throughout the country for hands-on learning and collaboration. CUE is announcing a partnership with fellow International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) affiliate Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL) to reach savvy educators in and around the Wolverine State. The event, titled Best of MACUL Presents CUE Rock Star Teacher Camp, will be held in Saugatuck, Michigan July 23-25, 2014.
Saugatuck, nestled along the Lake Michigan shore two hours from Chicago, was recently named by Lonely Planet as America's #1 domestic travel destination. Often called "Martha's Vineyard of the Midwest," the area boasts a bustling arts scene, quaint shopping, dining, boating, sport fishing, and unspoiled wilderness areas of towering dunes and remote beaches. Now, it will have rock star teachers.
“We are so thrilled to be presenting this event for the teachers in our area,” said Andy Losik, Elementary Tech Teacher, Hamilton Community Schools. “Our teachers are passionate about finding new ways to connect with kids. This camp is going to provide some amazing insights and tools and has been a desire for Michigan teachers for a long time.”
CUE’s Rock Star Teacher Camps consist of hands-on, “make-it, take-it” sessions led by the award-winning CUE Rock Star faculty, many of whom are Apple Distinguished Educators, Google Certified Teachers and Microsoft Innovative Educators. The goal is to inspire educators who want to take their instruction to the next level by leveraging the latest and greatest tools, apps, and practical approaches. Each camp is kept to a limited number of attendees to maintain the 1:10 faculty to participant ratio, and the camps are designed for those with intermediate to advanced technical skills. To date, every camp offered has sold out, so it is clear that educators see value in these events.
