Cuidado Casero Announces Sponsorship of Vestido Rojo Educational Conference
Southlake, Texas (PRWEB) May 05, 2014 -- Cuidado Casero, an organization of Medicare certified agencies providing home care and hospice, hospice, PCO, PCA, and PHC in Texas, New Mexico, New Jersey, Virginia, and Puerto Rico, is proud to be a sponsor of Vestido Rojo, an educational conference hosted by the American Heart Association on Saturday May 17th, 2014.
Vestido Rojo, held in conjunction with Go Red Por Tu Corazón, provides heart healthy activities during a half-day interactive conference aimed at educating women on heart health.
The free event, which is for women only, features health screenings, cooking demonstrations, door prizes, and more. Latina women are considered gate keepers of health for their families, and by reaching them, the entire family is impacted.
Cuidado Casero provides professional and paraprofessional services to patients facing a life limiting illness and their families. They offer home health care performed by licensed nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, and home health aides.
Dr. Carmen Santiago, Director of Cuidado Casero and member of the American Heart Association’s Southwest Affiliate Health Equity Committee, ensures that Cuidado Casero serves a culturally diverse community with medical professionals including nurses, physical therapists, among other healthcare professionals.
“One of the discussions when the Southwest Affiliate Health Equity Committee met in February 2014 was the importance of creating a culture of health within the Hispanic population. Hispanic women must always remember to keep their hearts healthy,” says Santiago, “Vestido Rojo is a wonderful free event for women to come and learn how to take care of themselves and their families.”
In addition to being a sponsor of Vestido Rojo, Cuidado Casero will be speaking on the main stage and providing blood pressure screenings between 7:30 and 9:00am.
