St. Louis Custom Curtains Retailer Recently Completed Curtain Installation in the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) November 06, 2013 -- Custom drapery company The Curtain Exchange of St. Louis recently completed installation of custom-created velvet curtains at the Cathedral Basilica on Lindell Boulevard in St. Louis. Located in the Central West End area, the cathedral is also known as the Saint Louis Cathedral, or the New Cathedral.
The curtains installed were a custom creation specific for the cathedral. The Curtain Exchange of St. Louis outbid other local curtain companies and provided the cathedral with fabric samples from their large selection of fabrics. The Curtain Exchange of St. Louis measured and allowed the cathedral to find a color complimentary to the rich mosaics painted in the church.
“We were awarded this job because we offered the church the best value and our reputation for service is well-known,” said Ellen Ross, owner of The Curtain Exchange of St. Louis. “The curtains were custom-made right here in St. Louis in our workroom.”
Completed in 1914, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis is the mother church of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and is the seat of its arch bishop. The cathedral was built as a replacement for the previous Cathedral of St. Louis located along the Mississippi river. It was designated a basilica — a place of worship of special distinction — by Pope John Paul II in 1997.
