Major National Media Conference Celebrates 10th Year
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 26, 2014 -- The Christian Women in Media Association National Conference is where Christian women working in media will gather on April 3-5, 2014 in an annual event to be held at the Doubletree by Hilton in Dallas.
Women professionals in all aspects of media will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of media seminars and workshops and hear top leaders in their field speak. The conference lineup includes Emmy® nominated actress and producer Roma Downey (via video); Dove Award winning singer, songwriter and author Babbie Mason; film critic Ted Baehr who is founder and publisher of MOVIEGUIDE®; speaker and author Thelma Wells; June Hunt, radio host of "Hope for the Heart;" political analyst Carol Swain; best-selling author Karol Ladd; former Armani model-turned-author-and-speaker Jennifer Strickland, and many more. Baehr will be the keynote speaker at the conference’s Awards Gala on Saturday evening where men and women will be attending. He will also moderate a media seminar entitled, “How to Succeed in Hollywood Without Losing Your Soul.” He will tell attendees what they need to know about the current state of the mass media of entertainment, how to use their faith to change the culture of Hollywood, and how to make a creative contribution to the whole world. An award-winning media authority on television, radio and print, his purpose is to be used by God to redeem the mass media and to encourage families to use wisdom in selecting their entertainment.
At the Awards Gala, Roma Downey, who is the Executive Producer with her husband Mark Burnett of The BIBLE TV-miniseries and “Son of God” movie, will receive the Excellence in Communication Award for Film and Television for her work in the highly acclaimed mini-series, “The Bible,” which aired on the History Channel last year. Award winning singer and TV host, Babbie Mason will be the recipient of this year’s Excellence in Communication Award for Music
Christian Women in Media Association (CWIMA) founder and president, Suellen Roberts founded CWIMA in 2002 to connect and encourage women working in media.
