PivotPoint Technology Corp., the Custom Model-Based Solutions™ company, today announced it is expanding its Cybersecurity Architecture and Frameworks training to include Cybersecurity Crash Course™ training and certification. These new cybersecurity short courses are aimed at a broad audience of technology users who lack expertise in networks and security, but who need to quickly learn cybersecurity essentials to protect their cyber assets. The target audience for this training includes managers, executives, software developers, business analysts, systems engineers, and other knowledge workers who use computers and Internet devices.

The Cybersecurity Crash Courses are designed to be short-duration and high-intensity. The 1- to 3-day short courses are punctuated with frequent discussions and live lab demonstrations that allow participants to quickly learn how to make informed decisions about their cyber hygiene and cybersecurity strategies. Consequently, clients can utilize these cybersecurity short courses to train small teams and large organizations regarding cybersecurity essentials such as "cyber hygiene", the enterprise and personal cybersecurity best practices that can potentially prevent the vast majority (90+%) of cyber attacks.

PivotPoint is initially launching three Cybersecurity Crash Course trainings: "Cybersecurity Essentials", "Cyber Hygiene", and "Network Penetration Testing". The Cybersecurity Essentials short-course training demystifies cyberspace concepts and jargon, and debunks cyber myths and misconceptions. It provides a broad overview of what enterprises and individuals need to know about a wide range of relevant cyber topics. Topics covered include, but are not limited to: Network Architectures and TCP/IP Protocol Stack; Cyber Attacks and Defenses; Cyber Hygiene Best Practices; Cryptography and Cryptocurrency Protocols (Bitcoin block chain protocols); Network Penetration Testing ("ethical hacking"); Cybersecurity Architectures and Frameworks; Cyber Law and Forensics; and Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) for Cybersecurity.

Students who successfully complete the Cybersecurity Essentials short course may subsequently take either or both of the follow-on short courses: Cyber Hygiene and Network Penetration Testing. The Cyber Hygiene short-course training teaches best practices related to cyber hygiene, including the "Top 20 Critical Security Controls", a reference set of cybersecurity recommendations maintained by the international Council on CyberSecurity. The Network Penetration Testing short-course training teaches best practices related to penetration testing (a.k.a. "pentesting", "white hat hacking", "ethical hacking"), whereby organizations authorize cyber attacks of their own computer systems with the intent of identifying and ultimately eliminating their cyber defense weaknesses.

PivotPoint supports Training Completion Certification for Cybersecurity Crash Course training. PivotPoint will provide Training Completion Certificates for students who successfully complete all learning modules and practice exercises under the supervision of a PivotPoint expert Instructor, who will evaluate the overall quality of their work. Students who seek Training Completion Certification must coordinate with PivotPoint when they order and schedule their training.
