When a commercial airliner disappears midflight into a world of terrorism and smuggling, husband-and-wife CIA operatives Alexis and Markus Dain must track it down before more flights vanish – and before brutal terrorists turn American planes against her people once again in the new thriller, “The Last Flight” (published by Balboa Press). The author is launching a marketing campaign to expand the book’s reach.

Author Cydney Marshall says she wanted to craft a story that would get readers thinking about the reality of terrorism, smuggling, missing planes and misuse of power: “It is a novel bursting with suspense and international intrigue, driven by terrorism and the dangers of air travel today, ranging from hijacked and missing planes to midair disasters and the use of commercial planes for the smuggling of drugs and weapons,” says Marshall.

Inspired by real-life events such as 9/11 and Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, Marshall taps into the fear many potential passengers harbor when it comes to air travel. Despite the dire reality the narrative is based on, Marshall hopes readers will find “there is always a ray of sunshine that brings forth hope and the assurance that people are willing to help in an emergency or desperate times.”
