From parades to seasonal dishes, it's all here.

Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel is excited to announce an all-new offering just in time for carnival season. The King Cake Celebration is an ode to carnival season and South Louisiana’s love of all things king cake. The king cake is originally a New Orleans tradition, but has made its way around the United States. The oval-shaped bakery delicacy can be best described as a cross between a cinnamon roll and coffee cake with various fillings for additional flavor. Guests can indulge in king cake inspired menu items throughout the property through the end of carnival season.
Mr. Lester’s Steakhouse is featuring a Mardi Gras cocktail, which consists of premium vodka, peach schnapps, melon flavored liquor, orange bitters, sweet and sour, served on the rocks for $9. Enjoy a King Cake Martini at Loco Mexican Grill & Cantina for only $6.
Guests can purchase traditional and filled king cakes from Mabel’s Kitchen for $14.95. Additionally, king cake bites are available $2 per order of eight.
“South Louisiana takes carnival season very seriously and we love to be a part of it. From parades to seasonal dishes, it’s all here,” said Richard Picard, Director of Public Relations and Advertising at Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel. “We have as much fun as our guests during this time of the year and we have a blast developing new takes on classics,” continued Picard.
The king cake tradition originated in New Orleans in 1870 from France. The cake is decorated in the royal colors of: purple, representing justice; green, representing faith; and gold, representing power. Today, a plastic baby is hidden inside the cake and served. Traditionally, the guest who finds the baby is named king for a day and is obligated to host the next king cake party.
