Darren Terell Jackson, a US Air Force veteran who chose a career in the health care sciences program, a prolific artist, and a member of the Prince George’s Community College’s Artists Association has completed his new book “The Ascension”: a captivating book of heartfelt paintings that bring to life the beauty and grace of the world.
Author Jackson shares candid and profound perspectives that reveal the message behind such amazing artwork: “‘It all started ten years ago in July 2007 when I was teaching my daughter Autumn Elise how to paint in my studio. I didn’t want to be totally enthralled by my own painting, which requires my full focus and attention to detail to the lighting effects of a still-life painting. I needed to paint something quick and meaningful. I got inspired to paint a midtorso of two bodies coming together unclothed. That exploration was incredible. I discovered how I was able to see movement and energy like never before. That painting is called UNTITLED. At the end of the day, I was completely able to teach Autumn how to hold a brush in many different ways, to achieve flow, blend colors, and add depth with her subjects. We had great success, so much so that her first paintings were accepted in an art show, along with some of my first attempts at abstract painting.’”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Darren Terell Jackson’s edifying masterpiece creates a powerful sense of awe and appreciation for life brought about by each painting that treasures love and dedication.
Readers who wish to experience this work can purchase “The Ascension” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
