Darryl Gopaul’s new science fiction tells story of distant universe on brink of destruction

Author Darryl Gopaul is fascinated by the cosmos – by what’s out there beyond the Earth. His thoughts on what could be have found a home on the pages of his new science fiction novel, “Escape from Jipadara: A Solar System of Three Planets with Sentient Life Forms” (published by Archway Publishing).

In the book, the solar system Jipadara contains many planets, but three of them become the focus of “Escape from Jipadara”: Jirboa, Pleen and Khadaran. Each supports great civilizations with rich histories, but the Jipadara sun is nearing explosion, threatening all life on the three planets. The leaders of the three planets meet to come up with a plan to evacuate Jipadara and escape certain death.

“I created this book by combining imagination with the basic knowledge of anthropology, basic psychology, archaeology and astrophysics, both hard and soft sciences, to build a solar system,” Gopaul says. “Explore their development when these civilizations are forced through overpowering destructive force and must agree to work together for their mutual survival.”

An excerpt from “Escape from Jipadara”:

“The dangers that would be faced include different types of radiation, attacks by asteroids and comets, different gravitational power by giant planets, shortage of food and repairs that will have to be done while on the run from Jipadara. The power of the sun dying will produce such a massive amount of nucleic explosions that would be felt billions of cosmic miles outside the solar system well into the cosmos.”
