David Weekley Homes Announces 2019 "Partners of Choice" Award Winners
HOUSTON (PRWEB) July 25, 2019 -- David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held home builder, is pleased to announce the winners of its 15th annual Partner of Choice Awards. The award recognizes those suppliers that have operated at world-class levels through the year, as determined by the home builder’s supplier evaluation platform. This rigorous, comprehensive process, anchored by the National Trading Partner Survey, evaluates companies in the areas of quality, service, performance in reliability, communication, timeliness, follow-through and other areas critical to the business relationship.
“Our National Trading Partner Survey plays an important role in helping us deliver a world-class home buying experience to our customers,” said John Schiegg, director of supply chain services for David Weekley Homes. “This platform helps us to align with companies that share our commitment to providing quality products and services.”
Every year, David Weekley Homes presents the coveted “A,A” Award to suppliers providing both exceptional quality and service, and the “A” Award, recognizing excellence in either quality or service.

The National Trading Partner Survey is performed on a quarterly basis and is comprised of 12 questions that allow roughly 1,000 David Weekley Homes team members from all points of contact to rate areas of supplier performance on a 1-to-10 scale. The evaluation process involves a comprehensive system of feedback and discussion that enables David Weekley Homes to measure world-class excellence among all established trade partners and their channel partners. Providers who receive the highest scores throughout the year are presented with the prestigious Partners of Choice Award.
“This survey allows us to evaluate the quality and service delivered by our providers and determine which ones offer the most value to our team members,” Schiegg said. “Through the comprehensive feedback and mentorship aspects of our program, we’re also able to build better partnerships with our trade partners while positively impacting the entire home building industry.”
A total of 160 companies were evaluated this year and 10 percent achieved the highest “A,A” status. Many companies that partner with David Weekley Homes have garnered multiple and consecutive awards over several years, including Simpson Strong-Tie, which has won 15 consecutive “A,A” awards for excellence in providing structural connectors such as joist hangers, straps and hurricane clips for the builder.
“Simpson Strong-Tie has focused on providing exceptional products, quality and service for more than 60 years,” said Nate Johnston, vice president of Builder Sales for Simpson Strong-Tie. “It’s a true honor to receive David Weekley’s Partners of Choice award for 15 years in a row. The program pushes the entire industry to higher standards of excellence.”
In addition, DuPont Performance Building Solutions, earned an “A,A” award this year. The company includes the former Dow and DuPont businesses that were previous recipients, with Dow meeting the criteria for the “A,A” Award for 15 consecutive years and DuPont for the last eight years.
“Earning the Partners of Choice Award from a best in class company like David Weekley Homes is truly an honor and testament that we are delivering on that commitment,” said Kevin McLain, account manager with DuPont Performance Building Solutions. “Just as David Weekley Homes is dedicated to providing the best in product and service to its customers, DuPont shares the same passion to be the best of the best. This like-minded dedication has been the cornerstone of a partnership that has lasted since the early ‘90s and will continue to grow into the future as we work together to find solutions to challenges in the construction process.”

For Uponor to be one of a few participants recognized with this award for the past six years is an incredible honor for our company and employees.”
