It’s heartwarming to see the care and support found at the Domestic Abuse Council. We feel honored to aid their mission to end domestic violence in our community and to serve victims so they may reclaim safe, happy, productive lives.
Daytona, FL (PRWEB) April 18, 2016
O’Donnell Insurance Agency has unveiled a new charity campaign in their ongoing community enrichment program serving the families of greater Daytona, FL. The Domestic Abuse Council provides emergency shelter, victim advocacy and other support to local victims of domestic violence. Compassionate community members who wish to join the campaign may now contribute here: https://www.crowdrise.com/helping-put-an-end-to-domestic-abuse/fundraiser/vickiodonnell1.
The Domestic Abuse Council has fought to end domestic violence in the local community for 40 years, beginning with a 24-hour crisis hotline and one-night emergency shelter in a motel. Today, they have grown to include numerous services, including emergency shelter, residential and transitional housing, support and educational groups, legal assistance and advocacy, community outreach and more. As most victims flee with only the clothes on their backs, food, basic hygiene items and clothing are furnished in a safe and supportive environment. The ‘Hugs & Love’ program works with children to help them heal and thrive, also providing childcare while mothers attend education sessions and support groups. Since almost half of all domestic violence survivors delay leaving because they don’t have a safe place for their pets, the Council has partnered with Hush Puppy Haven so that victims don’t have to choose between their own safety and that of a beloved pet.
“It’s heartwarming to see the care and support found at the Domestic Abuse Council,” said Vicki O’Donnell, owner of O’Donnell Insurance Agency. “We feel honored to aid their mission to end domestic violence in our community and to serve victims so they may reclaim safe, happy, productive lives.”
Utilizing its own resources and seeking the help of its vast network of customers and business partners, O’Donnell Insurance marches on to ensure customers, friends and neighbors are always in good hands. Social media and an email awareness campaign will be used to help the agency’s caring team to spread the word about the Domestic Abuse Council. They have also featured the cause in their monthly magazine, Our Hometown, which is delivered to thousands of households in Daytona and surrounding communities. The electronic version of the current issue may be viewed here: http://www.odonnellinsuranceagency.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_41.
Supporting their latest Community Cause has never been easier, as O’Donnell Insurance has pledged to donate $10 to the initiative for each and every recommendation they receive for an insurance quote, with no purchase necessary.
