DAZ 3D Releases New High-Definition Versions of its Popular 3D Models, Victoria 6 and Michael 6
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) November 26, 2013 -- Today DAZ 3D announced the release of new, High-Definition versions of their popular Victoria and Michael 3D models for use by creative professionals and 3D enthusiasts. For more than a decade DAZ has been a global leader in 3D content and software, and its Michael and Victoria brands are among the industry’s best-selling 3D models. With this announcement, they have set a new quality standard with 64 times higher resolution than was available with previous 3D models.
These new, HD versions of Victoria 6 and Michael 6 are based on Pixar’s OpenSubdiv standard which provides for sharper creases, smoother curves and overall better definition without the exorbitant system overhead and render times previous models of this quality would require.
This new level of modeling detail makes it possible for artists to achieve an unprecedented level of detail and realism in their work.
HD Adds Even More Realism to Previously Available DAZ Models
The release of High-Definition models adds even more realism and versatility to DAZ’s Genesis 2 platform for 3D human models. When DAZ released Genesis 2 earlier this year, it added 2,000 strategically placed polygons to the models, and separated them into distinct male and female figures, all of which enables greater facial articulation and expression. Last month, DAZ introduced Creature Creator HD, which provides the ability to easily create stunning High-Definition aliens, monsters and other fantasy figures based on the Genesis 2 figure. Now, with the release of Michael and Victoria in High-Definition, DAZ has extended its HD offering to include the industry’s two flagship human models.
DAZ customers who have already purchased 3D content for use with Genesis figures will be pleased to know that the ‘Auto-Fit’ function, used to convert Genesis content to Genesis 2 content will work even better now due to the mesh compatibility between the male and female figures. Additionally, due to the inclusion of Cross-Figure morphs between male and female, compatibility between content for Michael and Victoria is even better.
The High-Definition versions of Victoria and Michael are designed to work in DAZ Studio and can also be imported into POSER using the DAZ DSON Importer for Poser (64 bit) utility available here http://www.daz3d.com/dson-importer-for-poser.

About Genesis 2:
Genesis 2 provides artists with all of the incredible power of Genesis and DAZ Studio, starting with TriAx weight mapping, the ultimate per-axis weight map control for each joint; improved load and active frame-rate speeds (fps) with subD, single-skin 3D meshes; flexible shape blending; multiple UV Sets; and extensible parameters. Add to that Sub Surface Shaders, distinct male and female base forms, improved weight mapping and articulation, and a significant increase in polygons over other models out there. All of this means that DAZ 3D's latest figures are the most realistic and versatile available today. Every joint bends better and every skin detail is more precise. Both proportions and mass of the figure can be altered in a variety of ways without ever losing the superior bending and detail within the mesh.
