PediPlace Wins Grand Prize in DealWell.com’s Care2Share Campaign; Lewisville Children’s Health Group Receives the Most “Likes” in Online Contest
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- DealWell.com, the Dallas-based website that allows consumers to compare, bid and save on health and wellness services, presented a grand prize check for $1,000 to PediPlace, a Lewisville-based organization that provides healthcare services for children with limited access to care. PediPlace received the most votes of the four DFW charities that competed in DealWell’s online Care2Share contest.
Starting June 3, DealWell’s Facebook followers were encouraged to vote for and support one of four worthy local causes: Genesis Women’s Shelter, Care Van, Triumph Over Pain and PediPlace. All four ultimately received donations from DealWell. PediPlace and Genesis Women’s Shelter were the top two vote winners in the initial round, and moved on to the final round to compete for the grand prize.
“We are passionate about health and wellness, and we wanted to support North Texas organizations that share our values,” says President and Co-Founder Geoffrey Fischer, DealWell. “We launched the Care2Share campaign to engage our Facebook followers and to give back to the community that has supported us in the year since we launched. It was successful beyond our expectations—our followers stepped up to support the four charities and were very passionate about why they were voting for a particular cause. We heard some stories that really tugged at our heartstrings.”
After sharing her story about raising two children as a single mom, one woman posted on DealWell’s Facebook page: “So why do I support PediPlace? Because no parent should ever have to decide between taking a sick child to the doctor or paying an electric bill. Not only does PediPlace make quality healthcare affordable for sick children, they provide well care too, including immunizations and check-ups from birth through adolescence. So please vote—it only takes a minute to make a difference!”

The money will help our many programs that allow us to provide quality pediatric healthcare to thousands of area children. We really enjoyed meeting the DealWell team and giving them the grand tour when they came for the check presentation.”
Fischer says he is proud that DealWell was able to give all the charities a helping hand, and was inspired by his visit to PediPlace, which is planning to open a second location in Dallas in the coming months. “These praiseworthy groups, and the men and women who work and volunteer for them, make a huge difference toward health and wellness in our community. We are already planning another Care2Share for next summer.”
