Decks in the Park Season II Launches with Help of Great Local and National Sponsors

With the overwhelming success of the inaugural season of Decks in the Park “Beats I Park I Life” this music series is ready to take it to the next level. With support of some major local and national sponsors, this music festival will be a must every month.

I have always known Dallas was a very musically inclined city and that an event like Decks In The Park would be very well received.

Build it and they will come. When Dallas dreamed up a public park to call its own, picnics and puppies were just the start. Given the green light to plot, Dallasites have brought in crowds for yoga, the opera, and even made room for a couple Decks in the Park. Conceptualized by few, attended by many, the Decks team is at it again. Spinning life into Dallas, Decks in the Park the event draws in crowds of close to 2,500 fans per show.

Speaking to the soul of music, it’s no wonder that an idea sparked by artistic passion quickly lit a fire in the heart of Dallas and is now becoming the “it” music festival of the summer.

Join us this Thursday, April 24, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. CDT as we kick off the 2014 summer series at Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas: 2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Dallas, TX 75201. The event is open to the public and is a free, no-cost event. This year the music festival occurs on the 4th Thursday of every month through September. For more information, visit:

"Being involved in the Dallas music scene for almost 20 years, I have seen Dallas's musical tastes evolve as the city has grown," said Jeff Mitchell, creator of Decks in the Park. "I have always known Dallas was a very musically inclined city and that an event like Decks In The Park would be very well received. I just couldn't find the right venue. I wanted to bring that great music festival vibe into downtown Dallas and now with Klyde Warren Park being opened, I saw it as the perfect space. From the architectural design, to the energy it brings to the city and the amazing sights of the downtown skyline at night, I knew that this was the perfect space for the event."

It is one thing to have a dream, but quite another to make it a reality. Decks in the Park is only possible with the generous support of sponsors like Travelocity, which is headquartered in the DFW area, and encourages travelers to “Go & Smell the Roses”… even in their own city!
