About Hon. Ty McCoy
Honorable Ty McCoy has 43 years of service at the highest levels of government, private sector, non-profits, and new ventures. Throughout his career, McCoy formulated, planned and executed major doctrinal changes, multi-billion dollar programs, legislative victories, and private company strategic contract/financing victories in various executive positions.
A West Point graduate and Vietnam veteran, Ty retired from the military with over 25 years’ service, including an appointment as Secretary of the Air Force under President Reagan, before pursuing private sector ventures. McCoy served as Senior Vice President for Government Relations at the aerospace company Thiokol Propulsion and founded and served as Vice Chairman of the George Washington National Bank and. McCoy also founded Washington Capital Partners, LLC, a venture capital firm focused on investing in early stage technology companies, where he was Chairman and CEO.
Ty personally received three Medals for Extraordinary Service from the Secretary of Defense (2) and the Secretary of the Air Force, as well as other military medals, ribbons, and honors. Further acknowledgements include letters and monetary bonuses from the President, Senators, House Majority Leader, news organizations, good government organizations, and private sector CEOs.
