Missouri expands Simplifile e-recording in DeKalb County

I am excited to have begun e-recording and look forward to continuing to find ways to streamline our services.

DeKalb County is now accepting electronic documents for recording through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, providing document submitters with a faster, more cost-effective recording method online.

Instead of having to drive to the recorder’s office or send documents by mail, runner, or courier service, customers such as title companies, banks, and attorneys now have the ability submit documents securely to DeKalb County using Simplifile’s web-based service.

“I am excited to have begun e-recording and look forward to continuing to find ways to streamline our services,” said DeKalb County Recorder JoAnn Marshall.

Once the documents are received electronically at the county, they are reviewed, stamped, recorded and returned back to the submitter through Simplifile in minutes.

“We’re excited to work with DeKalb County and help provide this recording technology. It’s so much more convenient for both the county and their customers to be able to e-record their documents,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “It saves time and money and helps organizations move toward a more paperless work environment.”

Recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile, eliminating check-writing expenses and reducing payment errors.

If a document is rejected for any reason, users are notified immediately through Simplifile, giving them the ability to quickly correct and resubmit the document back to the county.

High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.

DeKalb County joins 56 other e-recording counties in Missouri in addition to more than 1,200 recording jurisdictions that e-record with Simplifile nationwide.
