Delight 2016, an experience design conference organized by Connective DX, is challenging what attendees can expect from a conference, by offering a variety of off-site field trip options that are included as part of the Delight experience. Part field-trip, part-workshop, the outing gives attendees the chance to visit some of Portland’s most interesting and innovative organizations, including:
- Portland Timbers: On their way to a Major League Soccer championship in 2015, the Portland Timbers have sold out every regular season match since their launch in 2011. Join Marketing VP Cory Dolich who will provide a behind-the-scenes look at how the Timbers have worked to build a community-centric organization on and off the pitch.
- Powell's City of Books: After a tour of the store, which covers an entire city block, attendees will hear from owner Michael Powell about how his namesake store has weathered storms of disruption to become a landmark brand for the city.
- Mercy Corps: Attendees will join Mercy Corps field experts alongside an IDEO.org design lead to examine the role of technology, innovation and design in influencing behavior change with audiences who are not receptive to your message.
Other hosting organizations include Target, WeWork, Ziba Design, OHSU and Ruby Receptionists.
“Every year at Delight we try to push the envelope and really deliver a unique conference experience that attendees won’t be able to find anywhere else,” said Jeff Cram, conference organizer and Connective DX co-founder. “With the addition of the field trip experiences this year I think we’ve exceeded our own goal. We’re excited for our attendees to get a ‘behind the scenes’ look at a variety of remarkable organizations in Portland that they otherwise may not have experienced.”
Early bird rates for Delight are in effect until July 31, so attendees can take advantage of up to $200 off registration with additional discounts available for groups of four or more from the same organization.
