A Portland Oregon Denturist Discusses Her Experience in a Temporomandibular Joints Disorder Clinic
Portland, OR (PRWEB) November 10, 2015 -- Tanya Poleon is the denturist at The Classic Denture Center in Portland, Oregon, and she spoke out about her experience with Temporomandibular Joints Disorder in a recent blog post.
Before moving to the United States, she attended medical school, and graduated in 1987. She then spent 14 years working as a general dentist and an oral surgeon in Eastern Europe. Before getting her denturist license in the United States, denturist Tanya Poleon took an internship at the Temporomandibular Joints Disorder office in Portland, Oregon, along side Dr. Arthur Parker.
Dr. Parker is a Temporomandibular Joints Disorder specialist that devotes his dental practice to patients who have some form of TMD. He works to carefully evaluate, treat, and chart each patient's progress and recovery from their problems related to TMD. To do so he uses clinical exams, functional testing, X-rays, CT Scans, and general patient history of lifestyle and habits.
A recent patient of Dr. Parker says: "I first came in for TMJ and Craniofacial pain associated with a car accident. The care I received was very effective at alleviating my symptoms of headaches and jaw malfunction. Most of all I was so impressed with the attitude of compassion and professionalism that your office provided. I feel very comfortable referring people to your office knowing they’ll get the best care possible."
The Classic Denture Center informs patients about what a temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is and how it will affect their day-to-day lives. They believe that the relationship of the teeth, muscles, and joints is critical to the overall oral health of a person. When these elements are not working together, people may experience head, neck, and facial pain from TMD. When this type of pain is experienced, The Classic Denture Center believes that treatment from a TMJ clinic, such as Dr. Parker’s, may be necessary.
Dr. Parker has treated over 10,000 patients in the area and has been recognized throughout the community for his ability to effectively diagnose, treat, and manage Temporomandibular Joints Disorder.
While interning there, Tanya gained some valuable experience. Dr. Parker helped her learn about the bio-mechanics of the temporomandibular joints. When her internship ended, Tanya knew she could use this experience to help her patients as a denturist, bringing about her work at The Classic Denture Center in Portland, Oregon. Tanya is comfortable applying the necessary neuromuscular principles in order to determine an optimum jaw position to build the bite (upper and lower denture teeth alignment) for edentulous (no teeth) patients. She believes that the experience she gained while working with Dr. Parker gave her some extra abilities to help her patients achieve comfort and confidence.
