350 NJ DePuy ASR Lawsuits Dismissed Pending Settlement Talks, Notes Rottenstein Law Group LLP
Rockville Centre, NY (PRWEB) August 20, 2014 -- According to an order signed by Judge Brian Martinotti and filed on August 7 in the multicounty litigation (MCL) case pending in the Superior Court of New Jersey (IN RE DEPUY ASR HIP IMPLANTS LITIGATION; no. BER-L-3971-11), nearly 350 lawsuits against DePuy Orthopaedics included in the MCL have been dismissed without prejudice. The cases enumerated in the order of the court are “in the process of being resolved.” The Rottenstein Law Group LLP, a national personal injury law firm that represents plaintiffs with claims of harm stemming from the ASR and other metal-on-metal hip implants, provides information about making a claim for compensation for injuries suffered at http://www.hipimplantinjury.com/.
“Settlement is often a good thing,” said Rochelle Rottenstein, principal of the Rottenstein Law Group LLP. “While a claimant might not receive quite as much money as he or she might after prevailing at trail, the uncertainty of trial is eliminated. The claimant who accepts a settlement offer will receive something for sure. The news that this many cases might be settled soon is encouraging.”
There are about 12,000 DePuy ASR hip lawsuits pending in federal and state courts, about 8,000 of which were brought by plaintiffs who underwent revision surgery, according to the Times. The remaining 4,000 or more lawsuits involve plaintiffs who allegedly suffered from metal poisoning and other adverse side effects. Those individuals—and even those who have had revision surgery—are still eligible to pursue options outside of settlement.
The Rottenstein Law Group LLP maintains a website where users can obtain valuable information about the dangers of metal-on-metal hip replacement implants, and research the process of how to go about filing a lawsuit against the medical device manufacturers that sold these dangerous devices. The site contains information about dangerous hip implants sold by various manufacturers, with a page, http://www.hipimplantinjury.com/depuy-asr-hip-replacement-systems/, dedicated specifically to DePuy ASR hip replacement devices. Individuals who feel they have cause to sue DePuy Orthopaedics, or another manufacturer, can fill out the no-cost, confidential claim evaluation form to determine whether or not they have a case.
