DePuy ASR Lawsuit News: Cases Progressing in New Jersey Court, Rottenstein Law Group LLP Reports

The firm is actively filing DePuy ASR lawsuits on behalf of those who have suffered metallosis, premature device failure, and other serious complications allegedly caused by the metal-on-metal hip devices recalled in 2010.

DePuy ASR hip lawsuits are progressing in New Jersey state court. A status conference is coming up on Nov. 21, according to court documents. The Rottenstein Law Group LLP, which represents clients in DePuy hip lawsuits, notes that periodic case management conferences are part of the typical pretrial proceedings in the statewide consolidation of ASR cases.

There are more than 600 cases in the consolidation (also known as a “multicounty litigation”), according to court documents (In re: DePuy ASR Hip Implants Litigation; MCL-293, Bergen County Superior Court, New Jersey).

“The consolidation is designed to make the pretrial process more efficient and cost-effective,” said Rochelle Rottenstein, principal of the Rottenstein Law Group LLP. “These conferences are organized so parties can discuss matters pertaining to pretrial actions, such as discovery, when the two sides share information.”

DePuy Orthopaedics, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, is reportedly considering settling the more than 10,000 ASR lawsuits in the United States possibly late this year or early next year, according to an Aug. 21 Bloomberg report.* Some bellwether trials have already been settled or delayed, according to Bloomberg.

The Rottenstein Law Group LLP encourages those who believe they have suffered from the ASR’s alleged side effects to download a free informational brochure to learn more about DePuy hip lawsuits, settlements and side effects, and how to contact an attorney for a free consultation.
