Friends of the Desert Adventures Boost Local Home Demand
Palm Springs, CA (PRWEB) July 15, 2015 -- Brad Schmett, Broker Associate with Luxury Homes by Keller Williams today announced that the Friends of the Desert Mountains have scheduled a stellar summer of events that will enhance the demand for local homes as thousands of summer visitors head to the valley to enjoy the Night Adventures in the Monument and the Upper Elevation Night Hike among others.
The mission of the Friends of the Desert Mountains is to preserve land, to support education, conservation and research in the Coachella Valley, and to act as a support organization for the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument, according to their Mission Statement. Night Adventures at the Monument are scheduled for Saturday, July 18 from 8:45 PM to 10:15 PM and again on Saturday, July 25 from 8:30 PM to 10 PM and will include the use of black lights to seek out night creatures of the desert. Among the favorites are scorpions, tarantulas, lizards, owls, and much more. Participants meet at the Art Smith parking lot on Highway 74, just past the entrance to the Visitor Center.
Schmett recently commented, “This has long been one of the favorite summer events and includes the upper elevation hike and Deer Springs Trail with tour guides and also along the Ernie Maxwell Trail as well. The area that surrounds Highway 74 is still beautifully pristine and unspoiled and it is not unusual to see bighorn sheep, coyotes, and other fauna on any of the adventures. So many of my clients move to the Coachella Valley to be closer to nature and they are never disappointed.”
August adventures are also scheduled and while education is at the heart of each event, they are entertaining and environmentally friendly as well.
