We love meeting local customers each year, but there are plenty of enthusiastic shoppers that come from out of state, too! It’s a great event that really brings the community together and we’re happy to participate.

Homewood for the Holidays, a 12th annual holiday open house in Birmingham, Alabama, was on Thursday, November 7, 2013. The Curtain Exchange of Birmingham, a luxury window treatments retailer, participated and offered refreshments to spirited holidays shoppers.
The annual Homewood Chamber of Commerce holiday open house included participating businesses on the 18th Street downtown area of Homewood as well as several shops in Edgewood, both suburbs of the city of Birmingham. Businesses shared day-long events and offerings on a custom Facebook page, and stores welcomed visitors with refreshments from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. A trolley was available to transport holiday shoppers between the two locations and outlying streets where shops were tucked away. There was no charge to shoppers who rode the trolley.
The Curtain Exchange of Birmingham welcomed shoppers with a warm and festive atmosphere and plenty of refreshments. Knowledgeable consultants and staff were on hand, as well as owner Lynette Mantooth.
“This is a great way to kick off the holidays while showcasing and supporting the unique, small and local businesses here in Birmingham,” said owner Lynette Mantooth. “We love meeting local customers each year, but there are plenty of enthusiastic shoppers that come from out of state, too! It’s a great event that really brings the community together and we’re happy to participate.”
