Design Week Portland 2014: IDL Worldwide Hosts a Retail Window Merchandising Competition
Portland, OR (PRWEB) September 23, 2014 -- In support of Design Week Portland, a week-long design celebration and series of interactive events, exhibits and lectures, IDL Worldwide is hosting a Retail Window Merchandising Competition.
On Monday, October 6, 2014 from 4PM-8PM at IDL Worldwide, retail design executives from Nike and Starbucks, as well as a surprise local celebrity, will act as team leads for four design teams. They will compete with limited time to create window displays from a provided kit comprised of merchandise, hanging system, mannequins, display blocks, graphic components, and props. Product sponsors include: Schoolhouse Electric, Solestruck, Bridge and Burn, Holly Stadler, Kate Towers, and Tanner.
Prizes will be awarded to the team determined as the winner of the competition, per the votes of those in attendance at the event. The results from the competition will be featured in the windows of IDL’s designated gallery space, Gallery 135, through the duration of Design Week, Saturday, October 11.
“IDL is always seeking ways to further develop and nurture a deeper connection with the creative community in Portland. This event is particularly exciting for us, as it’s a collaborative effort among the creative community that also grants us the opportunity to share a bit of what we do every day as an end-to-end retail brand agency,” said Kimberly Brandt, IDL Agency Project Manger.
Refreshments and local eats will be served. Visit the Portland Design Week website for a full schedule and advance registration for events.
