Philly Phavs to Feed Flood Victims in West Virgina Thanks to Philadelphia Based Devault Foods

The summer took an unexpected turn for over 1,200 families in West Virginia who lost their homes due to torrential rains and the impact will compound in the coming weeks. Devault Foods, a Philadelphia based manufacturer of burgers, meatballs and philly steaks is sending 35,000 lbs of Philly favorites to the region in the hope that a tasty meal will allow those families effected to experience a moment of normal.

I knew we could put together a selection of items that would satisfy many of the families effected by the terrible flood." says Brett Black, COO Devault Foods.

Within the final days of June, 1,200 West Virginia families lost their homes and countless others will be impacted by the aftermath of torrential rains and flooding of the Meadow River. It's summer. The community expected to be celebrating lazy days, barbequing with neighbors and enjoying some well-deserved time off. The reality is the town of Rainelle, West Virginia will spend the summer putting their lives back together.

Devault Foods, a leader in food manufacturing wants to help remove the stress around providing a family meal. Their specialties include some of their hometown favorites – burgers, meatballs and Philly steaks. On Monday, July 11th a full tractor trailer will pull onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike heading for West Virginia- that’s 35,000 lbs of Philly favorites with a retail value of $45,000. “One of our distribution partners in that area, A.F. Wendling Food Services (“Wendling”) contacted us. They asked if we might do something to help the families. Devault Foods is a family business and we knew that our family could put together a selection of items that would satisfy many people,” says Brett Black, COO Devault Foods. “Wendling will work directly with the National Guard deployed in the area to make sure that dinners are delivered from their cold storage to local food banks as needed.”

For the families in West Virginia that lost their homes or experienced a loss, this summer has taken an unexpected turn. The employees of Devault Foods hope that a dinner with the taste of a summer burger, a Philly steak sandwich or a spaghetti and meatball meal will feel a little like normal. As our country faces significant challenges politically, culturally and from natural disasters, at Devault Foods we want to acknowledge and support what is most important – the family.
