Worldwide Power Products(WPP; http://www.wpowerproducts.com), a power-generation equipment provider to industrial and petroleum clients worldwide, today announced it is ranked No. 11 on the prestigious Fast 100 list just released by the Houston Business Journal (HBJ). HBJ announced the rankings of Houston’s fastest-growing private companies at an awards luncheon held September 6, 2013, at the Hilton Americas Hotel.
HBJ evaluates Fast 100 candidates and determines winners based on two-year revenue growth from 2010 to 2012. All candidates must be headquartered within the 10-county Houston metropolitan area and have been doing business for a minimum of five years.
“Houston is home to some of the world’s fastest-growing, most respected firms, and to be among such an elite list of private companies is quite an honor,” said WPP Executive VP Mark Lum. “This award comes on the heels of WPP moving to its fourth home in five years. Our new facility on Brittmoore Road positions us to make further strides working with Houston’s energy leaders.”
The accolade, which was accompanied by a HBJ profile in August is the latest in a long string of awards for WPP. Previous honors include the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest-Growing Private Companies (2012 and 2013) and Forbes magazine’s list of America’s 100 Most Promising Companies (2011). WPP has also been named one of Houston’s Best Places to Work (2012) by the HBJ, and the Houston Better Business Bureau (BBB) Education Foundation honored it with its “Winners of Distinction” award in 2013 and 2012. Winners of Distinction is an award of excellence given to BBB-accredited businesses and charity members that maintain a superior commitment to ethics, overall excellence and quality in the workplace.
In addition, the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Houston honored WPP Founder and President Will Perry as Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012. “Although we have a global list of clients, we call Houston home and have a strong connection with the business community here,” said Perry. “We look forward to many more years serving Houston, the Gulf Coast region and the world from our new facility on Brittmoore Road.”
