BENTONVILLE, Ark., Oct. 25, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Fisher-Price announced a recall on the Inclined Sleeper Accessory included with the Ultra-Lite Day and Night Play Yards due to safety concerns about inclined sleep products. This report, along with details of the recall, can be found on the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) website. The CPSC states that there are about 71,000 units available, so how does one ensure that all 71,000 products are found and returned? Fortunately, there is a company called Digital Safety (DiSa) who has a solution that could provide help and support when events such as this occur.
DiSa's 3S Smart Barcode solution allows suppliers to mark items in their portal if they have a recall. This function allows them to block sale at POS if the item has not been removed from the sales floor.
Recall Function:
- Each item is labeled with a DiSa barcode that has a unique identifier for each product.
- Utilizing the recall function on the portal, a supplier can mark the UPC based on batch/lot or manufacturing information to the correct DiSa numbers.
- This allows retailers/associates to scan product on the shelf and be notified which specific items based on batch/lot, manufacturing location, or pull all inventory.
- This function also allows for the POS to be blocked in case a recalled item is not pulled from the sales floor but is marked in the DiSa system and the sale will be blocked.
- This provides security of safety to the end consumer and the retailer.
By signing up with DiSa's 3S Smart Barcode solution, the retailer can track the package for recall purposes no matter what location the package was originally purchased. Should the consumer decide they no longer want the item and are unaware of the recall, the Smart Barcode alerts the retailer to the recall, so the retailer does not put the item back on the shelf.
