Pacific Prime and Aetna Offer Expanded Direct Settlement
(PRWEB) September 10, 2013 -- Pacific Prime clients with Aetna are seeing improved treatment options as the insurer has recently expanded its direct settlement network in the UAE, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, and Uganda.
Hospitals and medical facilities that have a direct settlement option allow clients with the right plan to seek the care they need without having to worry about up front costs; the insurer takes care of payment with the hospital, minus any deductibles which may be on the plan.
The direct settlement option has shown to be greatly attractive for clients, and it's for this reason that Aetna and other international insurers are so focused on developing partnerships with leading hospitals all over the world. Aetna is making additions to its already massive direct settlement network outside the US of more than 100,000 doctors and facilities.
Of the five regions where Aetna has recently expanded their direct settlement network, the greatest number of developments were made in the UAE with three new partnerships in Abu Dhabi and four in Al Ain. At each of these partners' facilities, direct settlement for out-patient procedures are available for clients with an Aetna Traditional or Aetna International membership.
Pacific Prime analysts are not surprised to see Aetna focusing more on the UAE. The insurer has a large presence in the region, which has grown considerably in recent years. The UAE in general has also seen a greater demand for medical care in recent years with an increased rate of illnesses such as diabetes.
The other new additions to Aetna's direct settlement network are as follows: Human Health Associate Limited and Parkway HealthCare in Hong Kong; Beijing DCN Orthopaedic Hospital and the Parkway Health Vantone Medical and Rehabilitation Center in China; Hong Ngoc General Hospital and Keangnam General Clinic and Vinmec International Hospital in Vietnam; Africa Medilink Network in Uganda.
