Peter David Perry’s new crime novel, “The Union” (published by Archway Publishing) explores how organized labor develops power and establish unholy conspiracies with politicians and the Mafia as money and people disappear.
Chris Vincent is installing the new software for the largest trade union in New York City and while discovering the secret schemes to steal millions, is drawn into their criminal conspiracies. The book tells how union came into power and how the labor leaders steal millions while betraying the trust of their members. Chris uncovers the creative ways the computer is used to hide their secrets. Covert meetings in dark rooms and secret places with special dinners at famous restaurants add interest in tasty meals that stimulates the reader’s appetite.
Marco Richards is an FBI analyst assigned to his first field assignment and is ordered to hack into the union’s computer software. Does he abide by FBI policy, or does he follow the illegal orders of his rogue superiors? Both Chris and Marco are headed on a collision course as people begin to disappear and they must choose between who they really are or what they may become. Each tries to restore their self-respect as they fight battles between loyalty and betrayal.
Perry hopes his book helps readers “Stimulate clear headed thinking when examining social and political issues of today. The reader hopefully will recognize that history must be portrayed accurately as recorded and it is not acceptable to fit the facts to a narrative of those in power or those controlling the media.”
