Discseel™Procedure Takes Bold Steps to Increase Availability of Procedure
(PRWEB) August 07, 2018 -- Penn State graduate, Dr. Kevin Pauza, in an effort to meet the ever-growing demand for spinal fusion alternatives, has begun training and certifying spine physicians across the United States on his technique for preforming the revolutionary Discseel™ Procedure. The first of fourteen physicians received training in July, and have begun performing the life-altering Discseel™ Procedure for their patients from their offices in Ohio, Illinois, Texas, Florida, Washington D.C., Kansas, Indiana, California, Arizona, Georgia, Arkansas, Maryland, and New York. The training marks the next step in changing the way spine physicians treat debilitating back pain, while helping their patients avoid long term opioid abuse from failed spinal fusions.
“For 21 years I have been counseling patients that there is no definitive solution for spine disc pain - not even surgery,” said Dr. Boris Terebuh, one of the physicians that was trained. “That has all changed now with the introduction of Dr. Pauza’s Discseel™ Procedure, which non-surgically addresses the degeneration in the discs that are the source of the suffering. I am thrilled that I can now inform patients about this empowering alternative to a treatment pathway that often results in surgically fusing the spine. The Discseel™ Procedure actually addresses the origin of the misery in a non-surgical manner so we are no longer limited to just temporarily treating the symptoms of the underlying condition.”
Dr. John Swicegood, a newly-trained physician, called the Discseel™ Procedure “A safe and minimally invasive treatment technology that completely changes the current understanding and treatment of spinal disc disorders, offering a chance to heal and function normally using a powerful biologic that is already present in our genome.”
The developer of the Discseel™ Procedure, Dr. Kevin Pauza, said “The skills demonstrated by the physicians trained to perform the Discseel™ Procedure during their preceptorship impressed me. I knew that our Selection Committee reviewed applications from hundreds of Physicians from many spine specialties including; respected neurosurgeons, orthopedic spine surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other interventional spine specialists. However, they all shared one commonality: the belief that disc tears are the true underlying problem, instigating almost all disc pathology from herniations to disc degeneration. And before the Discseel™ Procedure, there was no real viable treatment.”
