Disney Actress & UN Youth Champion Monique Coleman Launches New TV Series Titled 'Gimme MO' Premiering on Discovery Life on Oct. 3

Disney Actress and Youth Activist, Monique Coleman, has developed a new television series titled Gimme MO' that will premiere on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. on Discovery Life. In addition to overseeing every aspect of production, Coleman will host the weekly docuseries that dives into social and emotional issues that impact youths. The series is produced by Coleman’s & Zesati’s diverse female- led team at “Motivated Productions” for Discovery Life. Lea Zesati serves as producer and Coleman as executive producer and the series is directed by rising directing and cinematography star, Valentina Vee.

The series represents a decade of research, development, and commitment to young people by Coleman. Each episode will focus on a topic affecting young people both in the U.S, and worldwide, including bullying, body image & self esteem, the pressure of fame, health & wellness, youth homelessness, sexual assault and sex trafficking.

Gimme MO' takes viewers on a journey to expose the issues that young people face while offering insight and resources on how viewers can help to support those affected. Led by her curiosity and her passion for social change, Coleman highlights exceptional young talent and organizations making a difference for youth, all while inspiring the audience to get involved. Gimme MO' aims to create a safer, more compassionate world that supports young people in reaching their fullest potential by exposing challenges, and offering insight and inspiration.

Coleman is best known for her character Taylor McKessie in Disney’s High School Musical franchise of films and her recurring role as Mary-Margaret on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. However, she's also known to many as the first ever United Nations Youth Champion. During the International Year of Youth, Coleman organized and funded a six month global tour to 24 countries, and raising awareness about the most pressing issues facing today's youth. Coleman is a longtime champion for "Girl Up" and is Allstate Foundation’s "Good Starts Young Ambassador." Coleman can be seen starring in the upcoming films Steppin’ Back to Love on TV ONE & Somebody’s Someone on Lifetime.

Gimme MO’ series cinematographer Valentina Vee was recently named one of Adobe’s 20 Creatives to Watch in 2018. Vee has directed, shot, and edited videos and photos for worldwide brands including Nike, AT&T, Adobe, National Geographic, Dell, L'Oreal, MTV, Allstate, Mashable, Discovery, and Sony. Previously, Vee was the Creative Content Director of Aputure, DP/Editor for YouTube star, Michelle Phan.
