The Importance of Diverse Connectivity

When a company is looking for a data center, one of the first things that come to mind is having access to their data and information at all times with little to no downtime. This is one of the main reasons that Diverse Connectivity is so important.

Any company wants to make sure that any latency or delay in data transfer is avoided. To make sure that there is unlimited and uninterrupted access to the data, there has to be Diverse Connectivity and Redundancy.

In order to know if a Data Center has Diverse Connectivity, a company would need to know who the carriers are and where the carriers physically enter the building. To have Diverse Connectivity, a company would need to make to sure that the carriers are not running in the same conduit. This does not create any redundancy.

The visual will give a company an idea of what Diverse Connectivity should look like.

As you can see from the visual, the carriers are coming into the building from different directions. If there is a fiber cut for any reason, there are still multiple carriers that can pick up the load and continue data transfers. This would ensure that a company would not experience any downtime or latency.

A company needs to confirm that there is Diverse Connectivity and Redundancy within the data center facility to ensure that their data is available and moving at all times.
