When police officer Luke Landon falls in love with the beautiful Mattdrea Cyrus, he becomes entangled in her family’s web of lies and deceit. Mattdrea’s father is a Pentecostal preacher who keeps his family under strict control, but the family is hiding secrets and putting up a façade.
The truth, however, soon comes out. Mattdrea's mother, Rachel, leaves her husband for a flamboyant Southern preacher, tearing the family apart. Meanwhile, Mattdrea struggles to reconcile her love for Luke with the fact that he has not been baptized in her church. Will their love stand the ultimate test of fidelity even after Rachel ensnares Luke with her lies and sexual powers?
This story of sex, love and betrayal takes place within the unique and repressive culture of the Pentecostal Church. "Under The Blood" weaves an intricate tale that pushes its characters to their absolute limits. Through her book, London hopes readers will see that God is in control of their lives if we let Him in and accept His Will.
An excerpt from “Under the Blood”:
“The line that was crossed could never to be erased. I had to learn to live my life without Mattdrea and that would be done through Rachel. At the time, I had no idea what I was doing or why I was doing it. In March right around Mattdrea’s 25th birthday, she started dating a guy named Ryan and I started to die inside a little each day.”
