DMV.us.org Launches Program To Delete Traffic Data That Is Not Legitimate
Houston, TX (PRWEB) November 08, 2013 -- DMV.us.org is launching a program that will help people who have been a victim of identity theft purge bad information from their records so their driving history is legitimate, the company said yesterday.
“Identity theft is a very real risk for people today, and can cause non-legitimate information to appear on a driving history report,” a DMV.us.org spokesman said. “If people can demonstrate to us that they have been a legitimate victim of identity theft, then we are happy to remove the incorrect information from their driving history.”
When an identity thief steals someone's personal information, they often use it to get a driver's license in their name, he said. Then when they get pulled over, they use that license instead of their legitimate license, he said.
“If you look up your driving history with us and notice that you have 10 speeding tickets in Iowa and you live in Miami, you can be pretty sure you've been a victim of an identity thief,” the DMV.us.org spokesman said. “Then you can contact both our company and the proper officials and have it removed from your record.”
DMV.us.org won't charge any fees to remove the non-legitimate data, he said.
“We are in the business of offering legitimate help to people,” the DMV.us.org spokesman said. “We are not in the business of extortion.'”
