Dogington Post Wins Nominations for Best Dog Blog and Best Designed Blog in DogTime Media's Pet Blog Awards
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) July 09, 2013 -- Now in its fourth year, DogTime's Pet Blog Awards, The Petties, are considered the Oscars of the pet-blogging community. They recognize the best pet blogs as voted on by fellow bloggers and online readers.
Nominations were open for two weeks in June and four finalists in each of ten categories were announced on Friday, July 5, 2013.
The Dogington Post was nominated for Best Dog Blog and Best Designed Blog by fans and fellow bloggers.
Each category winner will receive a $1,000 donation to the animal shelter of their choice, a custom Petties Award trophy, and a badge for their website.
"We are beyond thrilled to win this nomination," said Brandy Arnold, Content Editor for Dogington Post. "Our readers are very passionate - and by voting for us, they've shown us that they love what we're doing."
Dogington Post chose National Mill Dog Rescue as the recipient of the $1,000 award, should they win. Additionally, while nominations were open, Dogington Post encouraged fans and readers to vote for National Mill Dog Rescue to receive the Petties Grant, which would provide an additional $10,000 prize to the shelter that received the most nominations.
Voting for the Petties finalists opened on July 5, 2013 and will remain open until July 31st. DogTime will host an awards ceremony later in the year.
"Of course it feels great to win an award, but the most exciting part is being able to give back," said Arnold. "If we win in both categories, the prize money donated to National Mill Dog Rescue will save the lives of dozens of puppy mill dogs."
"I think our fans feel good about knowing that they're voting, not just for us, but for the dogs," she explains.
Dogington Post encourages its fans and readers to vote daily in both categories, to ensure a victory for the site and secure the donations for National Mill Dog Rescue.
