Old Savannah Insurance Agency, a Georgia-based insurance and financial planning firm serving communities in and around the greater Savannah metropolitan area, is launching a charity effort that promises to empower survivors of domestic abuse and help bring an end to all forms of domestic violence in the region.

All donations gathered from the charity event will be provided to national organization operating in the Savannah area that are committed to assisting survivors of both domestic and financial abuse. Financial abuse is the use of money or resources to prevent victims from being able to leave abusive relationships, and affects the great majority of domestic abuse victims.

“With 25% of women in our country facing domestic abuse at some point in their lives, and nearly all of these women facing financial abuse as well, our mission is to bring an end to domestic violence once and for all,” says James Grusheski, founder and acting manager of Old Savannah Insurance Agency.

In an effort to gather support for the charity effort from nearby communities, the Old Savannah Insurance team is reaching out over social media and email to raise awareness of the growing problems of domestic and financial abuse. Additionally, a feature article outlining the goals of the charity event is scheduled for publication in “Our Hometown,” a monthly webzine produced by Old Savannah Insurance Agency: http://www.oldsavannahinsuranceagency.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_41.

More than a dozen Georgia-based charitable organizations and nonprofit foundations have enjoyed the assistance of the Old Savannah Insurance Agency over the last two years. Grusheski and his team are longtime affiliates of the national “Agents of Change” charity involvement movement, and plan to continue assisting Savannah-area charitable causes on a regular basis.
