Donald R. Madden's Newly Released "Raindrop Fairy" is an Enchanting Children's Tale About the Magic of Nature
"Raindrop Fairy" from Christian Faith Publishing author Donald R. Madden is a delightful children's story about a little boy who discovers a small fairy emerging from the splash of a raindrop and through her learns about the amazing water cycle.
MEADVILLE, Pa., April 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "Raindrop Fairy": a fantastic tale of nature and magic, is the creation of published author Donald R. Madden, a former US Navy man and world-renown national coach for karate and jiu-jitsu. He was raised in the Appalachian Mountain foothills where widespread superstition stoked his storyteller's imagination.
Madden writes, "This book about raindrop fairies is a story of myself as a young boy sitting on an old green porch swing on our front porch in our three-room house. It had been raining all morning, and I could not go out to play. It was summertime and very warm. There was a puddle forming beside the porch. I got nothing to do, so I watched the raindrops make splashes and see how they would flow up and out. I thought how beautiful it was to see so many splashes. But I could see something special about those splashes.
"I wondered if I got water in my hand and caught one before it splashed if I could see the splashes up close. I did. That is when I closed my hand as soon as a drop would land. If I could close my hand before it would make the splash, could I save that splash? I did that, and when I open my hand, I saw the raindrop fairy. Then I closed my hand fast and told her I would not hurt her. I just want to see her. She said, 'You cannot hurt me.' That is when I learned all about the raindrop fairies.
"I loved Mother Nature. It is amazing how children can see things that adults can't."
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Donald Madden's new book is an absorbing lesson in the water cycle, combining science and a touch of magic to evoke a sense of wonder and awe in young readers.
Madden entertains and educates, encouraging children to pay close attention to the world around them, for they might just catch something special.
