Seattle Cosmetic Surgeon Sees Increasing Nationwide Popularity
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) April 04, 2014 -- Well known Seattle plastic surgeon, Dr. Bryan McIntosh, has seen an increase in the number of cosmetic surgery patients willing to travel long distances, to get cosmetic procedures. It’s not uncommon for patients to travel across state lines, and Dr. McIntosh has treated patients from Oregon for many years. However, it’s been recently revealed that he has been treating patients from further distances than ever before.
“I’m no longer surprised when I have patients driving from Wenatchee, Yakima and Ellensburg,” Dr. Bryan McIntosh confessed, “but I was taken aback when I had a phone call from a patient in Alaska seeking my services.”
Dr. McIntosh has now treated several individuals from Alaska, performing a breast augmentation and a labiaplasty. The patients fly down usually one to two days before the procedure to meet with Dr. McIntosh in person, work out the finer details of the upcoming procedure, and prepare themselves for the surgery. The surgeries themselves can last several hours and recovery time can vary from patient to patient, depending on the health and age of the individual. Dr. McIntosh always recommends, for these surgeries, that a friend or family member accompany the patient to the surgery, take the patient home, and assist and monitor them as they recuperate from the procedure.
These travel patients usually stay in Seattle for up to two weeks before returning home again. It’s important for patients to have follow up appointments following cosmetic surgeries to ensure that healing is progressing well and that the desired effects have been achieved. In addition, travelling can be hard on patients following a surgery, especially air travel.
Many of the patients come from areas where cosmetic surgeons and well-established plastic surgery practices are few and far between. If there are surgeons and practices in their area, patients may need a different specialty or they are seeking surgeons of a higher caliber than what is available in their areas. Dr. McIntosh has been excited to work with these individuals, and he looks forward to continuing to do so in the future.
