Dr. Robert G. Schwartz Achieves Certification in Russian Martial Art “Systema” and Focuses on Integrating Techniques & Principles into Health Care Delivery

Schwartz, the principal of Piedmont Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, P.A., announced today that he is now certified in “Systema”: a Russian martial art system that is also a philosophy of life that focuses on reducing tension in all aspects of life.
Systema, which dates back to the 10th century, is a Russian Martial Art that has four key principles -- breathing, posture, constant motion and relaxation. Each of these principles helps support a system of life that is optimized to reduce tension, and thus can help contribute to the treatment of a variety of health conditions ranging from everyday complaints, to serious diseases. Dr. Schwartz has found the tools and tactics employed by Systema so powerful, that he has integrated them into his medical practice at Piedmont Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, P.A., which is located in Greenville, SC.
