GRAND RAPIDS, MI (PRWEB) October 08, 2013
Grand Rapids dentist Dr. Samuel T. Bander is proud to announce that his cosmetic and family dentistry practice now provides Zoom teeth whitening treatments to patients that want to smile more confidently. The Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed system is the only in-office treatment that uses adjustable intensity settings to ensure patient comfort and provide customized results.
The Zoom system is safe and highly effective. It is clinically proven to leave teeth up to eight shades whiter after just one session. During the session, the lips and gums of the patient are covered with sunscreen or a protective gel to protect them throughout the procedure. A retracting device is then placed in the individual’s mouth to keep the area open wide enough for the ultraviolet light of the Zoom lamp to hit all of the teeth. Before the light is focused on the teeth, each one is painted with a whitening gel that is activated by the light exposure.
The cycle of steps is usually repeated about three times during the visit. The patient can ask their Grand Rapids dentist or the attending hygienists to discontinue the procedure at any time if they see their desired results before the three cycles are complete.
“Patients with discolorations caused by tobacco, coffee, tea, wine, and other substances see the most remarkable results,” says Dr. Bander. “To minimize sensitivity that can occur from time to time, we apply a mild desensitizer to the teeth both in advance of the treatment and after. This also protects and nourishes the tooth enamel.”
