Dr. Meyer earned a bachelor of arts degree with concentrations in biology and music from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. He earned a doctor of medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine in San Antonio.

"It was in this isolated setting that I was first exposed to the field of dermatology, as a large majority of the complaints I handled were dermatologic in nature," he says. "I further explored this newfound interest by volunteering at Camp Discovery, a summer camp hosted by the American Academy of Dermatology for children suffering from chronic skin conditions. I came to appreciate how the field of dermatology has the capability to substantially improve one's self-esteem."
