Rarely is there any encouragement to see change as normal and to live with it from a cognitively strong perspective.
Toronto (PRWEB) August 07, 2013
In “Understanding Change: A Personal and Professional Management Strategy” (published by iUniverse), the new book from Dr. Albert de Goias, the author presents the conclusions he’s built from years of clinical practice and lecturing about effective management.
Good management, de Goias says, is easy when the problem is defined and stable, but difficult and overbearing when the problem changes or is influenced by changing paradigms. This can make management or relating to other people an extremely complex task in times of change or disruption. The only effective way to do this is to empower people or, better yet, show them how to empower themselves to deal with change.
An excerpt from “Understanding Change”:
“We live in a difficult and demanding world, because everything about us is constantly changing. We have to know how to adapt to change, or we will always be confronted by issues and conditions that will disrupt our comfort zones and even threaten our very survival. Many people do not always recognize this constant movement, until one of these events occurs and they have a huge and perhaps insurmountable problem to tackle.”
As an expert in the field, de Goias knows that his book is unique. “All other books and presentations deal with change by showing how to contain it, giving support or assistance to get out of the quandary, or healing the effects of its impact,” he says. “Rarely is there any encouragement to see change as normal and to live with it from a cognitively strong perspective.”
