EuclidIQ Hires Dr. Lazar Bivolarsky as Director of Research and Development

Dr. Bivolarsky is an active member of the MPEG Technical Advisory Group as chair of the 3D Tele-immersive Coding Group. Other responsibilities within the standards body include chairing the Internet Video Coding (IVC) Project, HEVC Project, and MPEG-4/H.264 (SVC) Reference Software Development at the Joint Video Team (ISO/ITU-T), and serving as editor of the MPEG Standard's ISO/IEC 23002-2: Part 2 Fixed point implementation of DCT/IDCT.
Dr. Bivolarsky most recently was head of video research for the Skype team that contributed to the products’ eventual acquisition by Microsoft. He has also worked for various companies including Google, Logitech, BrightScale, Inc., and Epson. Dr. Bivolarski has multiple patents and publications in the field and received his PhD in Theoretical/Solid State Physics and Biophysics from Sofia University in Sofia, Bulgaria.
