DreamfundMe (http://dreamfund.me), a socially connected crowdfunding platform, is now accepting new crowdfunding campaigns and pledges for active campaigns. Founded in February of 2013, DreamfundMe is headquartered in St. Louis. The company aims to help individuals, entrepreneurs, creatives, innovators, organizations, and non-profits make their dreams become reality by raising funds for great ideas and causes.
To help get new campaigns off the ground, DreamfundMe has committed to giving $15 to each new campaign launched on the platform before December 31st, 2013. "Being the new kid on the block has its challenges. The $15 Jump Start pledge is our way of showing appreciation to those who are supporting us and trusting DreamfundMe to make their dreams reality," said DreamfundMe founder Robert Becker.
DreamfundMe has a number of live campaigns, including two high profile projects based in the St. Louis area.
A father and son team with a passion for great food and beer is collaborating with DreamfundMe to raise money for the construction of their new brewpub, Main & Mill Brewing Company. Denny Foster, one of the forces behind the brewery, said, "We are proud to announce our collaboration with DreamfundMe to raise funds for our grand opening in 2014. They are an excellent partner for our crowdfund campaign as they emulate many of our same ideas based on enhancing and strengthening the community." The brewpub will be located south of St. Louis in Festus, Missouri and is focused on fostering community. This craft brewery will be the first in Jefferson County in over 120 years.
InnoVox STL seeks to create much needed mainstream awareness of the growing St. Louis innovative startup movement by working to immerse awareness to media, to elected leaders, to the education community, and to corporate and community leaders. “As any entrepreneur knows, convincing big entities like corporations or government agencies to provide financial support to your vision can be a challenge. Crowdfunding efforts like DreamfundMe can provide a vital lifeline for startups. I’m proud to be associated with the DreamfundMe team,” said Jim Bafaro, Founder and CEO of InnoVox STL.
Becker adds, “The hallmark of our service is the desire to build relationships throughout the crowdfunding process, and do our part to ensure that our campaign owners are successful. We're more than a faceless platform where those who need money can raise money. Whether it's college tuition, a youth sports team, a startup, a band recording an album, or for some other need, if you have a great story to tell, we'll play an active role in helping you succeed."
DreamfundMe offers flexible and all-or-nothing crowdfunding campaigns. All-or-nothing campaign owners set a goal and only collect funds if they meet their funding target. When flexible campaigns are chosen, campaign owners keep any funds raised, regardless of whether the goal is met. There is no cost to list a campaign; a small fee is only assessed when campaign owners successfully collect funds.
Campaigns can be submitted at the company's website (http://dreamfund.me) and will undergo a review process prior to being approved. DreamfundMe uses WePay to securely process contributions from dreamfunders, and to deliver funds to campaign owners.
The company has plans to roll out additional features, functionality, and services over the course of the next year to set it apart from other crowdfunding platforms. Additionally, Becker expects to expand the company’s leadership team and staff in the coming months.
