(PRWEB) February 28, 2014
On February 14th at 8:30 AM, there was a nearly 100 car pileup on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The multi-car accident left more than 20 people injured, and the turnpike was closed for the rest of the day. The accident was due in part to icy conditions plus poor visibility. (article here)
The recent surge in snowstorms and adverse weather conditions in the United States has led to an increase in automobile accidents in many areas. Many problems have been exacerbated by the “constant change in temperature and road conditions.” (article here). Recognizing, preparing for, and responding to changing conditions is an important element of safe motor vehicle operation.
Succeed Management Solutions offers an online driving safety training course for non-commercial drivers. The training goes into detail regarding snow and ice hazards and how to drive safely when visibility and road surfaces are compromised. It reviews appropriate vehicle and equipment checks completed prior to driving a car. The training also describes the components of an emergency safety kit if a driver should experience an accident or get stranded in inclement conditions.
In March, Succeed is leading a free webinar on safe driving and how proactive employee training can help companies implement an effective driver safety program. It will highlight important topics such as preparation, proper driving practices, hazardous driving conditions, and more. Register to attend on either March 11, 9:00 AM PT or March 13, 11:00 AM PT.
