Sunday J.I. Etsekhume’s Vision of Outreach Comes to Life in New Book
New York (PRWEB) July 03, 2014 -- Author Sunday J.I. Etsekhume is the founder of Christ Community Outreach Center, Inc., an organization which aims to transform The Bronx using a proactive approach. Similar to the hands-on approach of his organization, Etsekhume also believes churches should be more proactive with their outreach programs.
In his new book, “Moving Jesus Beyond the Pulpit: Doing It the Community Way Can Help Church Growth” (published by WestBow Press), Etsekhume provides the tools to help churches move their outreach from behind the pulpit and into the community.
“Some churches only prefer to do outreach from the pulpit, but ignore the practice in the community where they are situated,” Etsekhume says. “This book describes various ways in which the church can show love and care, which indicates the diverse ways of portraying the church’s healthiness.”
Throughout his book, Etsekhume provides numerous ideas for churches to put into practice that he believes will improve their outreach programs. He includes supporting passages from the Bible which served as an influence in his own approach, made evident in his outreach program.
Etsekhume hopes his book will move church outreach programs out from behind the pulpit and into their respective communities.
