Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facility to Kick-off Monthly Family Night Event in Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale, Florida (PRWEB) December 05, 2013 -- Cornerstone Recovery Center is proud to announce the first monthly Family Night event at its drug rehab facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The two-hour event will be hosted at Cornerstone’s treatment center from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Friday, December 13, 2013, and facilitated by therapist Barbara Hernandez, MS, LMHC.
Family and friends of clients attending Cornerstone’s rehab program are invited to attend. The first hour will be a meet and greet so that family members can become acquainted with one another as well as the staff at Cornerstone. During the second half of the event, family members and friends will meet in a process group lead by Ms. Hernandez, which provides a chance for loved ones to ask questions about the treatment center and recovery process while participating in an interactive therapy session.
“Family Night is an incredible opportunity for the whole family to be involved in the recovery process and fully support their loved ones,” says Ms. Hernandez. “We want the families to feel comfortable with where their loved ones are getting treatment for their drug or alcohol addictions.”
The Family Night events will soon become a monthly occurrence so any family members that live out of town can make plans to travel to Ft. Lauderdale and visit the treatment center in person. Family members and friends are encouraged to attend Family Night to help bring strength and unity to the addiction recovery program. “It’s important for families to feel that they are not alone, to share their stories without shame and to support each other,” adds Ms. Hernandez. “Addiction is not a ‘me’ disease, it is a ‘we’ disease.”
