While many people are vaguely familiar with the 12 step methodology promoted by AA, not as many understand alternative methodologies that are non 12 step.
Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) May 31, 2017
Sunshine Coast Health Centre (https://www.sunshinecoasthealthcentre.ca/), one of the top drug rehabilitation and alcohol treatment programs in Canada, is proud to announce a new, short video on addiction. The video, available on YouTube, explains the Centre's non 12 step methodology in simple "layman's" terms and can be viewed at https://youtu.be/S8KHW5GQk8U.
“While many people are vaguely familiar with the 12 step methodology promoted by AA, not as many understand alternative methodologies that are non 12 step,” explained Casey Jordan, Chief Marketing Officer. “Our new video focused on explaining addiction and touches on our non 12 step methodology focused on meaning.”
Video: How Does a Meaningful Life Protect us From Addiction?
The new video begins by asking, "What is a Meaningful life," and then proceeds to investigate two related questions, "Who am I?," and "How do I fit into the world around me? The first is supported by self-awareness and relationships; the second is supported by motivations, goals, and life experience. A healthy answer to these two questions sets the foundation for a life free from addiction. But if the answers to these two questions are superficial or distorted, life lacks meaning and opens the door to problems with addiction. Addiction, in short, is a response to a meaningless or dull life. The treatment for addiction, therefore, has to do by helping persons struggling with addiction to identify the sources of meaning in their lives.
Interested parties are urged, first, to view the informative short video. Those who are struggling with addiction (or who have loved ones who are seeking drug rehab or alcohol treatment) are urged to visit one or both of the following two URLs can also be helpful: drug rehabilitation (https://www.sunshinecoasthealthcentre.ca/drug-rehab/) and alcohol treatment (https://www.sunshinecoasthealthcentre.ca/alcohol-treatment/). The Centre uses a non 12 step methodology and services men, exclusively.
