The citizens of the magical land of Lorem Ipsem are unlike any other. They have no taste buds and they eat their foods whole. One day, a group of Seeds decide enough is enough. They open a kitchen and try to overcome their difficulties in order to prepare a delicious meal.

Written in rhyming prose, “Creatures in the Kitchen” features colorful illustrations and teaches children about using their five senses in the kitchen and elsewhere. Schirado hopes to encourage parents and children to read and explore the world together.

An excerpt from “Creatures in the Kitchen”:

“Once there was a country
Where they had no taste.
People mixed up strange odors
And ate in great haste.”
