Magicrete introduced AAC or Autoclaved Aerated Concrete blocks save up to 15% cost in plaster and up to 10% cost in mortar in building projects when blocks are utilized in optimum manner. A lightweight, precast building material used as a superior substitute for clay bricks around the world, it has been made available in India by Magicrete in multiple-size blocks and panels.

AAC is now used as highly thermal insulating concrete-based material for internal as well as external construction. Another advantage is quick and easy installation, as the material can be routed, sanded, or cut to size on site deploying standard carbon steel power tools. AAC structures can be coated with a stucco or plaster compound to guard against the elements. Porous structure allows for superior fire resistance while light weight saves cost and energy in transportation. From processing of raw materials to the disposal of waste, resource efficiency supports lower environmental impact.

Using AAC blocks may increase the carpet area as well by 3% to 5% depending on design. The executive explained, “AAC blocks are several times larger than conventional bricks, which means lesser mortar usage. Factory finished with precise edges and shapes, the blocks require substantially less plaster, POP, or Putty finish. This does not just translate into lower costs but increased area as well.”

When it comes to durability and dimensional stability, AAC fly ash blocks performs well. It is a cement-based material, resisting water, mould, rot, mildew and insects.
